POSTED 12/23/09:
Hello there in mostly cold USA as I hear in my emails from lots of you all over there!
It's pretty sunny and warm here in MacKay as Jason and I have been doing lots since we
left the shop back in Sydney over a week ago. We are seeing and doing all sorts of stuff up
here with the owners Alan and Lisa Haynes along with there 3 daughters!
Some of you that know JJ super well wouldn't believe what he has been eating mostly
with out a huge fit over here. Some of them are, meat pies which are like the frozen turkey
pot pies we have over there, squid, muscles, tons of veggies I seem to cook at home, and
put on his plate, and he won't eat along with tons more!
Alan has seamed to be JJ motivation person since we got here getting him to got to the
gym and train with a personal trainer. Mandy has been teaching him where he has to be
stronger in the race car to be physical fit. He has also went to some boxing classes that
he really enjoys. I just thought he sweats in that race car til I went wait at the gym with him
and saw him. He has lost some of his belly and would be doing better if some nights he
didn't have a drink with supper.
This past weekend The Haynes took Jason and I to Hamilton Island off the coast of here in
there boat called the Phaeton! It was an awesome get away. When we left I had to take
some tablets as I seem to get motion sickness but I seemed to be good for the trip! We got
there late Friday and had a BBQ on the boat. We hung out talking and laughing really
enjoying the beautiful sights from the boat in the Marina. The next day we got up and went
to a beach called White Heaven which was known for the gorgeous white sand beach it
had. While off swimming a guy came tell us to watch for the small shark swimming
around. We had so many fish around our feet that they bumped into all the time. We also
saw the biggest sting ray ever. We seemed to get lots of sun hanging out there for the
afternoon. We then took of for some deep sea fishing. Denim which is Haynes daughter
was the first one to catch something. We only seemed to keep and eat one of them that
were caught. It was really good too. Alan put some breadcrumbs and fried it lightly in
some olive oil. We then headed back to the Marina and got ready to go out to Italian on the
Island. This time we made it on top of this big hill to see the sun set at 6:20pm. as the day
before we missed out. The sun come up around 4:30am over here. We all seemed to be
tired so we went to bed early. Everyone was up early in the morning as Rosy a crew guy,
one of Alan's mates and his wife Julie came along. Rosy is a great cook and started the
barbie to make sausage and bacon and Alan cooked the eggs. Girls got to do the clean
up! Not long after we headed back in the boat for like a 3 hour ride back to shore. We then
came back to have christmas drinks with others. If any of you have a bucket list you must
put Hamilton Island on there.
This past week Jason and I have been at the gym, took Denim to get her ears pierced,
hung christmas lights out side the penthouse, and went shopping. Jason also had to find
a dentist to get his retainer fixed as it broke lose. Been pretty fun on and busy doing all
sorts.
It's the weekend again and looks like we are going bowling and well with JJ it's a
competition like always. It should be fun! We are going to go on the boat once again to
the Great Barrier Reef for good fishing and snorkeling!
Will write again once again before xmas!
